Andrew Cunanan has touched all of our lives with his curious conduct. Each one of us has more smarts than any of those "Keystone Cops"down in Miami and at the FBI, so, I'd like to say thanks for the theories on Cunanan's motives so far. I'm sure he's somewhere reading these... and I bet he's making his list and checking it twice. Please be sure that we include your opinion.

When John Lennon was murdered Yoko Ono asked that his assassin's name never be spoken again. I completely agree that it was and will continue to be a highly respectable way in which to deal with such brutal acts. I see absolutely no point in this page other than the disrespect for the victimes and their families. Gays should not lower their standards to the point where they would even remotely identify with a murderer. Instead they should strive for the success and excellence of Mr. Versace's life and legacy. Versace was a brilliant thread in the world's fabric and a shining example of what gays can achieve. When you look at something close enough and long to identify with it you find yourself. Please wise up and look to Versace and the many other success stories. It will make OUR tomorrow better!

It Was Wrong. I don't Agree With What he Did and I don't Understand Why People Hate "Fags" I mean they're PEOPLE just like us ... they're Also Human ... AND I can see where Andrew Was Commin' From ... He got his Rage From People Like YOU dissin' him becuz, he was diffrent ... (whether He was a Fag Or Not That dosen't Give You the Right To come And Talk shit About Him ... Not All FAgs Are the Same ... And Even If they Were i can see where they were commin' From PEOPLE like You Rejecting them Just Becuz, THEY'RE DIFFRENT ! but yet, He didn't have the Right to Kill all Those People whether They Were Mean Or Not .. And Thats Just Wrong of SOME of YOU puttin' " Fags " Down. They're Humans Also ... they have Feelings And you Shouldn't HURT THEM)

what obsession? wtf are you and this site talking about? what a waste of bandwidth. if geocities/yahoo were to monitor their servers they would flush this page quicker that a queer could unzip his pants. get a clue and do something useful...
-- What A Joke

This is a very good site. Unfortunately, nobody still knows why did he do it, and I guess we will never know. However, it is a shame that the psychiatric diagnosis is given to a corpse. Should have helped him when he was alive. I still believe that there are plenty of uncertainties in this case, and the society only notices something horrible after it has already happened, but never does anything to prevent it.
-- Lavinia

I would just like to add that after Andrew's suicide, blood toxicology tests proved that he was NOT HIV positive. It only furthers the mystery, but I must admit, I gloated when I found out that he didn't have AIDS. It is just like the media, and the rest of us, to assume a mad gay man must be disease ridden. Shame on us. (I felt the author should have done his research a little better. Also, I wasn't sure what the point was.)
-- John

At risk of sounding delusional, I simply do not believe he commited these horrendous acts. I believe he possibly witnessed the first murder, panicked, therefore, he ran and the real KILLERS framed him. I believe one reason the public & media found it so facinating is because he did not fit any profile category. (I admire your courage to admit to having things in common with someone who is so hated, but I know if his family or the families/friends of the victims read it, wounds that are healing only will be reopened.)

I think Cunanan jumped rope 3 times every third morning and then drank cheese juice just before all the rabbits finished dreaming about the big field of flowers. Then he put on his cape and jumped off the smaller of the two buildings and if everyone is ready, let's eat the twinkies precisely at midnight. Then he realized that the relationship between a circle and a square is merely a triangle. This engraged him and he put his space suit on and set out for a 3 second adventure on the big island. Many people watched as he pulled out his pen and wrote directions to get to east side of Nirvana. Apparently no one was paying attention because they ate the wafers without remorse. All of this because two pieces of corn could not get along? (This is how weird I think some of your answers are!)
-- Please_Wake_Me

After reading both books I wasnt sure anyone felt the same way about Andrew Cunanan that I did...but after seeing this site..I realize i'm not alone. Whoever created this site is brilliant. I agree with everything he says... Andrew was hot, and the media frenzy only freaked out because of that. Im so glad I found this site...and Versace's clothes have gotten better since he died anyway... (Because i think its fabulous..very well put together. I was concerned i was the only one that felt this way about Cunanan/Versace but im not..we agree on so many points!!)
-- shanelanta

I don't think I have a "spin." I am doing research for a project and am very disappointed at what I have found. Gay people are no different then homosexual people, except for the sex of their partners. Web-sites such as this where people can write in and say such sick things about homosexuals disturbs me. Especially since you are supposedly gay yourself. (I already said. I can't believe the horrible slanderous things I have read, such as "fag" in every other line.)
-- Masochistic

He was just a spoiled gold digger caught up in an initial crime that enabled the events that followed. I, and my colleagues, believe the first heat of the moment killing convinced him he had nothing more to lose. At that point he decided to make the most of his situation, by fleeing erratically using deadly force at will. The Versace killing was most likely simply his idea of a "coup de grace" to finally make a name for himself, and he had a string of unral breaks allowing his spree to last as long as it did. We also believe the abdominal wound was inflicted at/near the 2nd kill site during a desperate struggle for freedom. He was a joke, a frigging loser who does not deserve even the most basic respect. He lived by charity, and we should never validate these acts with any type of logic or rationalization. Fuck him, the littlebitch got what he deserved.
-- dangerdocc

He was brilliant and what a shame he was so insecure that he pretended so much, therefore lost touch with reality, and became so destructive when he could have been so constructive. And he never did dress in drag to my knowledge. (It was good but a bit sensational, though one can hardly blame you for that as otherwise it would get no attention. Andrew thought like that, only to a tragic extreme.)
-- Ex Hillcrest queen in BHam Ala

It is disgusting that you made a page pretty much glorifying not only a faggot, but a serial killer. Cunnan was sick homo that went on a killing spree. And then the coward kill himself. How can u admire someone like that, u sick fag? And you make a game about his killing spree? You are a faggot ass pyscho. Cunnan's a pansy ass serial killer that deserves to be dead just like all you fags that eat dick. Get out of your little fantasy world too, u flamer. You are gonna end up just like him, a faggot psycho killer. If i ever saw u in the street i'd shoot you're faggot pussy ass just like Cunnan shot himself. Rid the world of another worthless queer.
-- JODECI23@aol.com

Several people said it, he was just downright SICK!!! Your sick people to make jokes about this or John Walshes tradegy you should be ashamed. Terrible. THAT is NOT funny.
-- NUNYA

He did it because he had a rage inside of him. He had been rejected by several of his victims. His anger exploded. He reacted to the rejection of his victims with rage. He had no conscience about him. Ö Some of your responses were sarcastic and joking.

This website is excellent. I have a very similar (albeit slightly more complete) website about Amy Fisher (http://www.amyfisher.tsx.org) which led to a book deal. Anyway, from the little that I have read, which actually includes the first chapter of Maureen Orth's Vulgar Favors, a number of newspaper articles, the movie (Versace Murder) as well as two specials in the "People and Arts"channel, the making of the Versace Murder movie, and the Gianni Versace special. As far as the media treatment of this case- it's actually nothing new. When the Amy Fisher scandal was big in the US (which automatically made it big in all of North America and a significant portion of the world, despite the fact there was no internet then) the media frenzy was equal, and in many ways eclipsed that of the coverage regarding Cunanan. Amy made the cover of People, Newsday, The New York Times, the Daily News, the New York Post, and although Versace got a People cover, Cuna nan did not. The similarities between Amy Fisher's case and Cunanan's are striking: while Amy's case presented themes of sex, wanton violence, reckless teenagehood, affluence, bad parenting and beepers and, the more provocative and titilating aspect: teenage prostitution and call girls. Cunanan offered promiscuous homosexuality, images of the South Beach culture, glamour, links to the fashion world, a stream of violence, Cunan himself was considered by the media to be very attractive (his looks were described as being "exotic filipino" (curiously, Amy Fisher's looks were never really an issue. she wasn't that pretty when it happened anyway): those are exactly the kinds of titillating images that work in Hollywood. These are things most of us probably will not experience (I certainly wouldn't want to dabble in any of them) but we got to read about them or see them portrayed as they happened to this other character- Cunanan- who, additionally, came from this weird family in another country, with, a!ccording to Maureen Orth, a mentally disabled mother who had fed his ego and obsessions beyond a healthy point. My point is, there should be no outcry over the amount of media attention. In Amy's case there were not only three books and a movie, as was the case with Cunanan. There were two books, one, a serious journalistic tome on the case, not really about AMy, and another, Amy's bought-and-paid for My Story book, which had an initial printing of more than 250,000 copies and was perched in the upper brackets of the New York Times bestseller list for quite a while. BTW, a rec for the webmaster: why don't you give some more info on the books, like maybe interviews with the authors? I can get you a couple if you are interested.Anyway, although the interest on characters such as Cunanan and Fisher is siphoned off by the massive media interest when their stories are hot, there are still a relative few who like to have updates on what happened to them or how their stories evolved after death, or in AMy's case, after infamy. My website is still visited by well over 100 people every day and the counter is now topping 120,000 visits in total.Anyway, that's just my two cents on these cases and this Cunanan site is great! Ö It's got a lot of information and lots of archives which I appreciate as I understand how hard it is to keep them.

Well, what can i say, i'll say it anywas, ever since i got to read, aknowledge and be aware of andrew, i personally feel that both of us are on the same wave lengh. He no longer is amongst us which is a shame coz, i believe we could have learnt more than enough from him. Its just something about him, that gives off that mysterious vibe.. Something out there made him "click" but one thing for sure i would have done anything to find out, but as you know its too late.... Yeah he murdered 5 people...everyione thinks they have the answer ..but do they really?? I dont think so, all i can say is there is more than meets the eye!! There sooooo much we don't know about... So many minor deatil people have over looked...you cant no a certain person inside out... No one can.
-- HAZSKY

Great site. I think it is a great way for people to express what the feel about the subject.
-- gina

Easily he may be Schizophrenic or have multiple personailty disorder, or he may have been jealous of the rich and famous people. But I think he was a real big fan and adored Versace and that he got toooo jealous he just went all out and killed him.
-- Criminal

I feel that this should be taken seriously and people shouldn't joke about it. What if it were on of your family members?
-- Chickie

I think ur site was very well presented and informed, shame about some of the childish answers on this page, did any of you people read the pages on this site? Ö I am definatly no fan of cunanan, i was actually researching versace for a fashion project and your site provided me with more information than any others
-- nikki

I think he was a sad young child trapped in an adult body and world, although he created his world, he realised he couldn't control it, so he thought controlling other peoples lifes would replace the void in his existence. Ö I agree with the letter from "Bud" people shouldn't use a forum like this to make innane juvenile jokes. that's what the South Park website is for.
-- Emily

He is my uncle... I was 12 when it happened. I was one of the last people with him. I had just gotten back from california where I was visiting him, my father, and my aunt. I am 16 now and what really bothers me is people who pretend to know him when really they don't know shit. They don't know who the real him was. All I know is that there was a part of him that no one can ever tell me was an act. Our relationship. My mom use to always tell me I was just like him in someways. After this all happened she stoped. No one ever talks about it in the family. We all kinda just pretend it never happened. I just wanted you to know that I know why he did it. I think you are a dumbass who dosn't know shit about my uncle!... no one does... its people like you who piss me off! People who pretend they know what they are talking about to a point that they actually believe it themselves.
-- shit headed asshole

terrible. you are a sick boy ...there is no need for such violence

Hey, I met Andrew, at a truck stop in Hebron OH., we watched Oprah in the tv room summer of 1997. All he had w/him was a gym bag and he was hitchiking. He talked about going to Flordia.Acted like a nice guy that the time.would like to know more about his family
-- islandgirlin Carolina

He was sick and is to be pitied. We all need forgivenessat some point in our lives, probably not for anything asserious as murder, but no sane person did these horrible things. The whole episode is tragic, but if I were sick likeAndrew, I know I'd want people to forgive me or to at least try. Bill - Palm Springs, CA Ö Very informative, well put together, easy to maneuver.
-- Wow

This site is ridiculous...First of all Andrew never dressed in Drag. Andrew was a victim of society which went wrong. I personally feel sorry not only for the victims families but for Andrew and his family... Your as pityful as the rest who thrive on this. 208.208.118.10

The reason he killed Versace was because he was addicted to Methamphitamines and became delusional. He murdered rich & powerful gay men because they were evil/perverse. His low self-esteem and addiction to drugs was the catylst to his own demise.
-- GayCatholicBoy

This site is gay. terrible. ass moncher.
-- shity site

He has an extremely large stick up his ass 204.108.200.3

I think that he just lost it becuase of the fact that both of his lovers in minnesota were messing around behind his back and he found out and went crazy. He traced all of his old lovers and Miglin migth have been a past sugar daddy so to speak of Cunanan and he wanted to get even for all the things that had gone worng in his life. I alos think he might have desperatley wanted to be wealthy and have all the attention for himslef and he just couldnt come to reality when his looks started fading and the $$$ wasnt coming in any more!Ö Its a good detailed sight
-- Happybone3@yahoo.com

He had nothing else better to do other than ruin other people's lives. Jerk.
-- Lori

I believe that the first victim had something that Andrew obviously wanted and couldn't have and then he just went crazy with facing what he did and didn't know how to stop. Maybe he thought the other victims recognized him. I believe he was at the cemetary possibly asking or looking for forgivness and was interrupted. Many people are focused on the fact that he way openly gay. So what. People are always judging a book by its cover, get over it people. There are so many types of personalities, sexual preferences, etc... I love the fact that we all can be individual people. We need to focus on interacting with anyone and excepting everyone for who they are. Any person who can take another persons like he has and several times has no compassion. Many people can't feel this because they are self centered. Who knows why anyone kills, or what makes them kill. I never want to be on the receiving end and I fee l for all the family and friends that are missing thier love ones. Ö Needed more details on Andrew. Maybe then I could try to figure out what drove him to do something like this.

He might have been abused, picked on in his childhood and he finally bursted and started killing people.

I think we all need to take a moment and reflect. It's the three year anniversary since this mess all started. I find it appauling that there are movie talks and the media still continues to cover this. This continued coverage is only promoting this type of criminal behavior. In the memorium section of this sight, that person could not have said it better. Let's not forget there were four other very important people that were killed before Versace. The first victim, my boyfriend. Three years later, I still see him, feel him, smell him and miss him ever so much. As I prepare for the third year anniversary of his death...I ask that everyone just take a moment to reflect on the people we've lost and those that are living everyday with that loss. I think that Cunanan had been trying to become a part of the rich and famoues for a while, but he never managed to succeed, so he desperetly took it out on the people that rejected him and his lies, including Versace who probably did not want anything with him, creating a schooting storm in him.-- Nina
